Since logging began in the 1850s, 95 percent of old-growth coast redwoods have been cut down. Today, many old growth redwoods are still in danger of being harvested for commercial purposes. We are working to preserve some of the last stands of privately owned old growth redwoods in the world.
Our Mission
Our mission is to protect California’s ancient old growth trees and educate people of the importance of keeping these ancient ecosystems intact for future generations.
What We've Achieved
We have protected ancient old growth trees in danger of logging.
We protect many endangered species through saving old growth trees.
We have a path of communication uniting polarized views into a working team.
We educate people of the importance of protecting living old growth trees for future generations to see.
We have monitored many timber harvest plans to find and protect old growth trees.
We monitor many ancient old growth trees living with an old growth policy for protection.
We help promote and protect healthy watersheds.
We protect rare and endangered plants by keeping watersheds in areas of old growth as close to a natural sustainable ecosystem as possible.
